Constructing a new brand

12th May 2008

The Constructing Excellence Awards dinner saw BHP Law unveiled as the new face of Blackett Hart & Pratt LLP, the North East’s leading multi-disciplinary law firm, with a presence in each of the key regional locations of Newcastle, Durham, Darlington and Teesside.

The change in name and image represents the culmination of the expansion and development of the practice over the last decade. Now with more than 250 staff, including 33 partners, the firm provides an extensive range of legal services, supported by a number of complementary non-legal professional disciplines operating from within the firm. The adoption of a new identity for the practice provided the opportunity to recognise and promote the strength of its non-legal services and along with the new law firm image create four new divisions within the firm.

BHP Develop is BHP’s town and country planning, construction and architectural design team which provides a comprehensive service to a range of property developers, land and property owners across the region and further afield.

With chartered town planners, architects and architectural designers, planning, construction and engineering lawyers, it is one of the biggest independent, in-house development teams in the North East.

The BHP Develop team works closely with the specialist commercial and property lawyers to provide clients with access to all the expertise they need for any project, whether a major infrastructure scheme, public private partnership or small-scale domestic proposal.

BHP has a wide range of clients in land, office, industrial, leisure, retail, agricultural and residential developments across the UK.

The other new divisions within BHP are BHP Financial, which offers the services of a number of Independent Financial Advisers to property buyers and trust managers; BHP Sport, serving sports clients with professional management services; and BHP Home, a dedicated estate agency business.
