Barney Corrigan is head of the Town and Country Planning Team and is highly experienced and well known in the North East planning and development sector. He has over 30 years’ experience in Town and Country Planning with 12 years in local government, nine years as an ‘in-house’ planner as Planning and Development Manager and 12 years as a planning consultant, latterly as Planning Manager at Dickinson Dees Law Firm before taking up his present position with BHP Develop in 2006.
His broad experience is complimented by specialist practice in major projects, planning applications and appeals, environmental impact assessment, mineral extraction, waste disposal and waste recycling.
Barney has appeared as an expert witness at numerous public inquiries and, as well as acting for a wide range of clients in the development industry, has also provided expert advice to local authorities particularly on minerals and waste planning matters.
Recent projects include mining and quarrying schemes in the North East and South Wales, waste recycling projects, a major wind turbine blade manufacturing facility and a residential and recreational development in an area of high landscape value in County Durham.
BHP Develop is a multi disciplinary planning practice offering the full range of planning services. The team advise on a range of projects from major infrastructure projects through to small scale domestic proposals.
