Louise Oakley

After her formal education in Northumberland, Louise studied and obtained a BA Honours Degree in Town Planning at Newcastle University. Subsequently, she continued her post-graduate studies for two years and was awarded, with merit, the Diploma in Town Planning. During this time, she undertook a one year placement with the planning team at the Government Office for the North East, which enabled her to develop a sound practical knowledge of the planning profession.

On gaining her Diploma, Louise joined the planning team at the BHP Newcastle offi ce in 2006 as a Planning Consultant. During her time at BHP, she has dealt with a range of applications including tourism development, waste and minerals and change of use applications.

Since joining BHP Louise has continued her studies and written a dissertation on renewable energy which has gained her a Masters in Town Planning qualifi cation from Newcastle University.

BHP Develop is a multi disciplinary planning practice offering the full range of planning services. The team advise on a range of projects from major infrastructure projects through to small scale domestic proposals.
